The Bhurtpore offers a wine list that the Good Pub Guide rates as 'a cut above.'
Our whisky list has seen the pub short-listed numerous times for the title 'National Whisky Pub of the Year' and we have a menu of soft drinks as long as your arm.
We stock an interesting whisky list because it is the distilled cousin of beer. Whisky would not exist without beer as, essentially, one has to make a type of beer as the first step in the process of making whisky.
Chimney Row Wines, a one man operation, has been supplying all our wines since the mid-1990s. Kevin Harnett (top bloke, incidentally) is a dab hand at finding the right wines at the right price and is solely responsible for an enormous growth in our wine sales over the last 17 years.
Soft drinks are an essential in a rural pub (someone has to drive, after all) and we try to provide a varied selection whilst avoiding the obvious.
Alcohol-free Bitburger Drive and Erdinger Wheat Beer are as good as it gets with beers, but we also offer an enormous selection of fruit juices, including Chegworth Valley apple juices, and the continental Looza range including apricot, strawberry, banana and passion fruit.
Fentiman's wonderful range of old fashioned variations on cola, ginger beer, lemonade and dandelion and burdock, amongst others, complete the picture. The Curiosity Cola was voted top Cola by the New York Times, no less!
