The Bhurtpore is, first and foremost, a pub, and the life-blood of any pub should be good beer.
We have 11 guest real ales which change several times a week. If you want to know what is on now, check out www.bhurtpore.com. A broad range of styles are maintained, including mild, a stout or porter, strong ales and bitters of various strengths. Most are sourced from micro-breweries with an accent on local brewers, though we also actively support the older independent brewers. Alongside the British ales we have a wide selection of European beers. On draught we have Bitburger Pils (the best selling draught beer in Germany. We also have Budweiser from the Czech Republic- in pale, dark and 'half and half' forms - and Erdinger wheat beers - the standard Weissbier and the new Urweisse (easter to September only), a recreation of their original 1880's recipe - from Munich. In September we shift from Urweisse to Oktoberfestbier. This special edition is limited in supply. When it is gone we leave the pump fallow till next spring. Our session lager is now Beck's Vier from Bremen. From Belgium, The Bhurtpore offers Timmermans Strawberry beer and two guest Belgian ales which may be a honey beer, another fruit beer or perhaps a Trappist ale. We also have a bottled beer list which features around 150 of the finest beers in the world, mostly from Belgium, but with contributions from Britain, Ireland, the USA, the Czech Republic, Austria, Holland or Germany. If you are still struggling to find the right tipple, we also have real still cider on tap and a list of 30 or so of the best bottled ciders money can buy - needless to say, Magners is not on this list (see 'old blogs'). |
