The Bhurtpore offers a wine list that the Good Pub Guide rates as 'particularly enjoyable.'

Our whisky list has seen the pub short-listed numerous times for the title 'National Whisky Pub of the Year' and we have a menu of soft drinks as long as your arm.

We stock an interesting whisky list because it is the distilled cousin of beer. Whisky would not exist without beer as, essentially, one has to make a type of beer as the first step in the process of making whisky.

Chimney Row Wines, a one man operation, has been supplying all our wines since the mid-1990s. Kevin Harnett (top bloke, incidentally) is a dab hand at finding the right wines at the right price and is solely responsible for an enormous growth in our wine sales over the last two decades.

Soft drinks are an essential in a rural pub (someone has to drive, after all) and we try to provide a varied selection whilst avoiding the obvious.

Alcohol-free Bitburger Drive and Erdinger Wheat Beer are fine examples of low alcohol beers, but we are always looking for better for our drivers. Bredog Nanny State is a recent addition and I would like to find a source of Innis and None, a 0% pale ale from Edinburgh. Lovely hoppy aromas and flavour.

We also offer a large selection of fruit juices, including Luscombe apple juices and fruit crushes. The continental Looza range of juices including peach, strawberry and mango have been a mainstay for years.

Fentiman's wonderful range of old fashioned variations on cola, ginger beer, lemonade and dandelion and burdock, amongst others, complete the picture. The Curiosity Cola was voted top Cola by the New York Times, no less!

2018 Good Pub Guide

rates the Bhurtpore as

Top 10 for Beer

and

Top 10 for Whisky

(again!)

It also describes the Bhurtpore as a really oustanding pub (star entry) with particularly enjoyable wine and really good value food.
